2. Five internet safety tips. Speaking

6th grade.

After watching the following video, we are going to talk about the five safety tips and discuss why they are so important.

We will answer all these questions:

  1. Do you remember any of the safety tips mentioned? Do you remember the other tips mentioned?

  2. Why is it so important not to give your personal information to anyone?

  3. Why is it so important not to send any photos to unknown people?

  4. Why you should always talk to your parents if you receive any strange message?

  5. Why you should not download anything without your parent’s permission?

Now in groups of four, you are going to create another tip that you consider important and you would include in this list. The tip should include an explanation with it.

Once everybody has their tip and explanation, one volunteer of each team is going to read it to the rest of the class.

  1. Hello Virginia.
First of all, your blog is only focused on techonology and computers and I think it is great. On this way, students will learn advantages and disadvantages of using this tool.
I decided comment on this activity because I reckon that this speaking is important to students and also, for teachers and why? For the reason that teachers have to know how their students think about the use of techonology and computers. Your questions are relevant to the video and I am sure the students will learn a lot with this video and questions. Of course, there will be a lot of different answers and the students will confront in more than one. But, the suggestions, ideas, opinions are going to solved the different opinion.
Finally, you say to your students that they have to create another tip and explain this. I think you are working speaking in an effective and interesting way!

I find this activity very interesting, because it is very important that students can reflect on it, and from the video they have that opportunity. I also like it because it develops the work in groups, the reflection, and the idea of creating a tip each group I love.
    Congratulation,
